Low-key 4-day Paris itinerary with Kids

We went to Paris for 5 days during the 2024 Olympics with my sister’s family. We have an aunt living in Paris so we hung out with her and my cousin too! On the last day we met with my brother/sister-in-laws for breakfast as they just arrived for the closing ceremony. It seemed like we didn’t do much, but it was very much fun and enough already. 6 adults, 3 kids from 3-9 years old. What did we do?

  1. Olympic Games at Stade de France
    • Carrefour for souvenirs (I brought home 1kg of chocapaic)
    • sushi place near Gare de l’est for my daughter’s birthday lunch
  2. Le Louvre, Galeries Lanette, Chinatown
    • walked alongside the Seine
    • pastries and crepes for snacks
    • Vietnamese food in Chinatown, opened until midnight!
  3. Palace of Versailles, Tour d’Eiffel, Arc de Trimophe
    • Quick burger on Champs-Elysees
    • Hot! Hot! Hot!
  4. Croissant breakfast and Gare du Nord for train to Bruxelles!

So when you look at our itinerary, we only had three full days in Paris. We decided to make the best use of our time to out the “most famous” places and skip places that sound good but far away (Monet / Disney). Maybe if we come back in the future we will visit!

We planned our days around the major attraction/ event we went, and then see if there were other attractions on the way or close by. Be sure to prepare water and snacks for kids and yourself. Be realistic with your kids. They can walk but sometimes they don’t want to.

Are you planning to go to Paris? What are your must-do?
